Pro Table (高手場): Hong Kong Mahjong Without Hints
Most online mahjong games play half the game for you: they stop to tell you that you can pung, they declare your self-drawn win, and they pause only when someone can claim. Pro Table removes every one of those hints. You call Win, Kong, Pung and Chow yourself, the table never reveals who could claim, and mistakes are penalised the way a referee would at a Hong Kong tournament. It is the expert mode for players who already know the game — and it is free.
Pro Table vs. the Advanced mode
| Advanced | Pro Table | |
|---|---|---|
| Call prompts | Shown when you can call | None — four call buttons, always visible |

| Missed turn | Automatic discard | Dead hand + yellow card |
| False win (詐糊) | Not possible | −512 points, no winner |
| Invalid or changed call | Not possible | Yellow card (−24) |
| Discard out of turn | Not possible | Yellow card, dead hand (小相公) |

Call it yourself — like at a real table
Four buttons sit under your hand for the whole game: 食 Win, 槓 Kong, 碰 Pung and 上 Chow. They are never highlighted and never disabled because of your tiles, so the buttons themselves give nothing away. Calls made by anyone at the table are announced the moment they are made, just as players shout them at a real table, and resolve when the call window closes: win before pung or kong, pung or kong before chow.
Fouls and penalties
Penalties follow the fouls-and-penalties chapter of the Hong Kong Mahjong Association tournament rulebook, whose point scale matches the payouts used here:
- False win (詐糊) — declaring Win without a legal, 3-faan hand: −512 points, no winner; in a full match the hand is replayed with the same dealer.
- Yellow card (−24) — an invalid or changed call, a kong right after a pung or chow, a discard out of turn, or a missed 7-second turn.
- Red card (−96) — a second yellow card. A second red card counts as a false win.
- Dead hand (禁糊) — after a missed turn or a discard out of turn your hand may not call or win for the rest of the hand, but it can still deal in.
- 過水 — let your winning tile pass, and you may not win on that tile until your next draw.
Cards last for the whole match. Three timed-out hands in a row in a full match hand the seat to a bot.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a Hong Kong Mahjong game online without hints or call prompts?
Yes. Pro Table (高手場) is an online Hong Kong Mahjong mode with no call prompts at all: Win, Kong, Pung and Chow are four buttons that are always visible, and you decide yourself when to use them — exactly like calling at a real table. It is free to play in the browser.
What happens if I declare a false win (詐糊)?
A false win costs 512 points and ends the hand without a winner. In a full match the hand is replayed with the same dealer. This follows the Hong Kong Mahjong Association tournament rulebook, where a false win is penalised with a 512-point deduction.
What is a yellow card in Pro Table?
A yellow card (−24 points) is given for an invalid or changed call, for discarding out of turn, for declaring a kong right after a pung or chow, and for missing the 7-second turn. A second yellow card becomes a red card (−96 points); a second red card counts as a false win.
Is my self-drawn win declared automatically?
No. At a Pro Table nothing is declared for you. If you draw your winning tile you must press Win within the 7-second turn — otherwise the chance is gone, and the tile you let pass may not be won on until your next draw (過水).
Why is there a 3-second pause after every discard?
Every discard opens the same 3-second window for calls, whether or not anybody can claim the tile. In ordinary online mahjong the game only pauses when someone can call — which tells you that you have something. A fixed window removes that tell, like the moment before the next player draws at a real table.
What happens if I discard out of turn?
The tile lands in your discards but cannot be claimed, you receive a yellow card, and your hand is one tile short (小相公) — a dead hand that may not call or win for the rest of the hand.
Which minimum faan and scoring apply?
Pro Table plays the 3-faan minimum with the standard Hong Kong payout table (doubling to 4 faan, then half-doubling, 10-faan limit). Scores, penalties included, count for the leaderboard.
Can I play Pro Table with friends or as a full match?
Yes. Pro Table is available as a single hand or as a full match of all four wind rounds (16+ hands), against other players or with friends via an invite link. It is played in the browser on desktop, tablet and phone.
