Full Flush is worth 7 faan — every tile in your hand comes from a single suit, with no honour tiles at all.

What it is

Full Flush is the classic big hand of Hong Kong Mahjong: all fourteen tiles, melds and eyes included, from one suit — dots, bamboo or characters — with not a single honour tile.

How to form it

Only commit when you’re dealt seven or eight tiles of one suit. The play is to shed the other two suits and all honours, forcing your whole hand into one colour. Be warned: after that many same-suit discards, everyone at the table knows what you’re doing — late-game they’ll starve you of the suit, so the win often has to be self-drawn.

Common scoring mistake

Even a single honour tile as the pair disqualifies it — that’s a Half Flush (3 faan). The eyes must be in the same suit too. This is the most argued point at showdown, so remember: Full Flush means zero honours.

清一色平胡 — Full Flush plus All Chows (7 + 1 = 8 faan) — and 清一色對對糊 — Full Flush plus All Pungs (7 + 3 = 10 faan) — are two of the most celebrated combos on Hong Kong tables. Add Self-Draw or Concealed Hand and you’re knocking on the cap.
